John Finney
President
He founded Finney Insurance Corporation in 2009 to be a professional independent insurance agency. John started his own agency to be able to provide quality coverage to his customers and to be able to help them with all of their insurance needs. John worked for his father who was a State Farm agent in Hollywood for eight years prior to opening his own agency and was tired of telling his clients that he was not able to help them being restricted by State Farm and only selling State Farm products. As an independent agent he can contract with the insurance companies that have competitive rates and are taking on new clients in a volatile South Florida insurance market. He enjoys giving quality service to his clients and saving them money on all of their insurance needs home, auto, and business.
John grew up in the Fort Lauderdale area first in Hollywood, then moved to Pembroke Pines, and finally settling down in Davie. He considers himself a neighborhood agent. Attended Broward Community College then transferred to The University of Central Florida and graduated with a bachelor of Science in Business Administration. John is married and has two daughters and a young son that he enjoys boating, paddle boarding, the beach, riding bikes, exploring new places, and watching movies with.

I am a founding member of Finney Insurance since it opened in 2009 and joined John Finney in his new venture. Previous to that I worked for John’s father Ken Finney with State Farm for 9 years. I started my Insurance career in 1990 with local independent agency for 11 years. I like to give quality insurance with a good price and save my client money. I also like to make it a point to educate my client not just sell them a policy, but make sure they understand what they are purchasing. I like the diversity of an independent agency because of all the different markets we can write with various carriers.
I grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and moved here with my parents to Hollywood in 1979, and have been a resident in Hollywood, Dania and now have been in Fort Lauderdale/Dania beach area for many years. I am a single parent with one daughter who is in her 2nd year at Broward College. I love music, and love to go and see local bands. I am an avid reader and music fan and I also like to watch movies. I also love to cook and bake.

Originally from Brazil moved to North Miami 15 years ago. I am fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese which gives me a broad base of people to help with their insurance needs. With my eleven-year experience in insurance my goal for the agency is to build long lasting relationships with my customers. I want to be your agent for life and for the generations to come.
